Jack’s Gone – Laura is Back!

Jack is below the knat line…

I got up early today after completing a travelling CrossFit workout of 50 push ups, 50 situps, 50 squats, and 50 walking lunges at the hotel.  I worked through lunch and had the opportunity to ski with Linda Giddens, world champion water skiier, late this afternoon. Linda is a legend in the sport of water skiing. I hung out with her and the water ski camp kids (a variety of boys and girls ranging in  age from 8 – 14). We all alternated sets on the lake with Linda. Many of the kids had never water skied and were working hard to salom for the first time. One of the boys (Luke, 14) is the 5th ranked salom skiier in the US and has been training with Linda since he was 3. The kids all raved about Linda’s cooking and how much fun her camp was. If you have kids that would like to learn to ski, even if they have never tried to water ski – please check this out.  I plan on coming back real soon. GET OUT AND PLAY! (Linda promised she would hit the ramp and jump if all of the kids salomed before the week ends this Friday, I can not wait to find if she jumps!)

  • WORLD-CLASS FITNESS IN 100 WORDS:

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Dead lift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.
